2017 was a year of protest. Politically, yes, but artistically too. It was a year during which destruction of traditions, boundaries and limits was embraced as a great inspiration. Creation came not simply from building upon what has been done before, but by tearing it all down, and clashing with it in such a way that the explosion caused by the collision produced wonderful works and pieces. The following 100 albums, the best of 2017, prove that the rules, once mastered, are meant to be broken.
