10           The Black Keys – Turn Blue

In 2014, The Black Keys rocked the world with their eighth studio album, Turn Blue. Amazing riffs, as well as incredible drum beats by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney resulted in an excellent follow-up to El Camino and earned The Black Keys a Grammy nomination and a #1 spot on the Australian and American charts. All 11 tracks will transport you into another dimension, mysterious, soft, and hypnotic, reflecting producer Danger Mouse’s influence of the band.

Featured Track: “Weight Of Love”

9              Alvvays – Alvvays

This Toronto band can be proud of their debut album. With amazing melodies and wonderful vocals by front woman Molly Rankin, this album is a true masterpiece. Thanks to their eponymous album, Alvvays reinvented indie music, adding a whole new repertoire featuring Keith Moon-esque drumming, giving the songs a strong beat, contrasting the leading dreamy riffs.

Featured Track: “Next Of Kin”

8              Royal Blood – Royal Blood

This album is pure genius. It’s like a punch to the face, and believe it or not, it feels so good. A perfect mix of Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and Led Zeppelin lands Royal Blood at number 8. Rock N Roll was revived in 2014 thanks to amazing drumming by Ben Thatcher and hair-raising vocals by Mike Kerr. An incredible first effort.

Featured Track: “Come On Over”

7              Interpol – El Pintor

And they are back. The whole world has been looking for Interpol during the last four years and we are glad to have them back, classier than ever, with their eponymous (sort of) album. El Pintor (which is an anagram of “Interpol”) has earned the band a #1 spot on the Billboard alternative albums chart.

Featured Track: “All The Rage Back Home”

6              L’Orange – The Orchid Days

Sampling at its finest. L’Orange places his listeners in limbo between two centuries, mixing 1940s movie lines and song choruses and, on certain tracks, dubbing those with rap or hip hop, resulting in an extremely innovative sound. Darkness, love, life, death, melancholy, sorrow, laughter and softness: “those were the Orchid Days”.

Featured Track: “Need You” (Feat. Blu)
