The Australian Psychedelic band have just posted the first track of their long awaited album (which is yet to be assigned a release date). “Let it Happen” has been is the band’s first original song in 3 years, and it was well worth the wait.

As Kevin Parker, the mastermind of Tame Impala, had stated towards the end of 2014, new material is and will be more “electronic” and less “rock”. Possibly, an influence of Parker’s collaboration with chart-topper Mark Ronson on multiple tracks off his Uptown Special.

Although the sound has indeed changed a bit, it is far from disappointing, as the main novelties are Synth solos replacing the guitar and Parker’s vocals being modified, sounding however just as wonderful as his live voice. Thankfully, the signature Tame Impala drum patterns haven’t changed at all, even though their rendering isn’t as lo-fi as that of Lonerism or  Innerspeaker.
