5. Howard Shore

Honestly, how epic was The Lord of the Rings trilogy? Immensely, right? But how empty would it sound without the majestic and omnipresent score of Howard Shore? Accompanying each character, building up each battle and setting up each scenery, Shore’s original score received the Academy Award for The Fellowship of the Ring (I) and The Return of the King (III). However, the composer’s work isn’t restrained by his partnership with Peter Jackson. Shore also worked on more minimalist scores with directors such as Martin Scorsese, on the set of Hugo, and David Cronenberg, in a prolific collaboration which gave birth notably to A Dangerous Method and Crash.
Here is one of the greatest pieces of the very rich soundtrack of The Lord of The Rings trilogy.
