Week #24: Yes – Fragile
As the world mourns the passing on Chris Squire, we choose Yes’s classic Fragile as our featured album of the week.
This record is one of many that prove Yes’s incredible productivity during the 1970s: not only did the band average an album a year during the better part of the decade and later on in the 80s as well, but this particular opus was released barely eight months after February 1971’s The Yes Album, which was nothing less than another amazing full-length LP.
Fragile has since been recognized as the band’s greatest success upon release to critics and fans alike as it peaked at number 4 in the US and number 7 in the UK, and is often listed as one of the best progressive records of all time.
