Week #5: The Ramones – Ramones
On February 4, 1976, The Ramones release their eponymous debut album. The rest is History.
When huge music icons were introduced to the Ramones, they were knocked out. Among them is a certain “Godfather of Punk”, Mr. Lou Reed. And this is how he reacted:
“That’s rock ’n’ roll. They really hit where it hurts. They are everything everybody worried about – every parent would freeze in their tracks if they heard this stuff.”
The true Punk sound was then truly introduced to mainstream audiences.
By releasing this album, Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy changed music. Forever.
